The 12th annual Holiday Costs Barometer, produced by Post Office Travel Money, presented the rating of the cheapest beach resorts in Europe in 2018.

Nine indicators were taken into account: the cost of a cup of coffee, bottles of local beer, a glass of Coca-Cola, a glass of wine, a bottle of water, sunscreen, insect repellent, a two-course dinner for two and a dinner of three courses with a bottle of house wine.

Despite the fact that the rating does not take into account the cost of flight and accommodation, yet it gives an excellent idea of the cost of things in which tourists on beach holidays need most.

The three most affordable beach resorts in Europe included Sunny Beach in Bulgaria, Marmaris in Turkey and the Algarve in Portugal.

The list of the cheapest places in Europe for beach holidays is as follows:

  1. Sunny Beach, Bulgaria– $ 61.95 for the nine above items

        3. Algarve, Portugal– $ 97.31

       4.Costa del Sol, Spain– $ 102.03

5.Crete, Greece– $ 116.01

6.Costa Blanca, Spain– $ 119.19

7.Paphos, Cyprus– $ 126.19

8.Corfu, Greece– $ 130.09

9.Zadar, Croatia– $ 139.93
