We often aren’t aware that we’re “powerful machines”, yet complicated. Our brains can be consciously or subconsciously trained for many things.
But, the thing is that we are less aware that small sentences we tell or small habits/actions we do, can make a significant impact on our daily life.
Today, instead of scrolling through TikTok, you are going to spend some interesting 5 minutes learning about your mind.
- Never start requests with words Could you. That will make people less satisfied with task you’re requesting. Try with Please…
- If, for some reason, you want to make someone feel uncomfortable, look at the middle of their forehead. That will make them feel like they’re under scrutiny.
- If a person is avoiding answering your question, just make a pause while still keeping an eye contact. Your interlocutor will then probably spit that truth.
- If you want to get someone to like you (e.g. in the new office, class), just ask them to explain something to you. That will create sort of connection.
- If you want someone to do something for you, casually tell them: “You are not even able to do it”. Most people will try hard to prove you wrong when it comes to doubting their capabilities.
- If you like a person’s offer in general but would like to get better conditions, pretend to be a little bit disappointed.
- As soon as your alarm clock goes off, sit up with two fists raised and yell “yeahh”, as if you’re a soccer player who has just scored a goal. It will make you get out of bed easily, feeling refreshed.
- Are you always worried whether you’ve locked your door or turned off your iron? Well, just say some absurd phase while doing it, e.g. “green rabbit, oppressive crab”.
- Do you have that one lazy person in your team that slows the whole work process down? Well, next time you give him/her a task, say “start with this”, rather than “do this”.
